Winter Storm Carla

Winter Storm Carla formed from a tropical low in the Gulf of Mexico on January 14, 2017. The tropical low then transitioned into a Category 1 Snow Storm while it traveled to Tennessee, the low then developed a very prominent cold front and swept across the eastern seaboard dropping as much as 17" of snow in some spots. The low then deepened off the coast of New England becoming a 928 millibar system equivalent to a Category 4 hurricane. The backside of the system brought scattered heavy snow showers to the region. It started to weaken while mid way to Bermuda up to 996 millibars. The storm continued to weaken until it finally dissipated just east of the Azores.
