This season is saw a record amount of activity and ACE level.

There was a record breaking 21 storms that formed over Lake Michigan, rather than the more usual 5 to 10.

Over 10 hurricanes, which would usually be 1 to 4. And a modest amount of Major hurricanes, which only 1+ (if at all) or none usually form.

And an ACE Value of up to 130.

Meaning Lake Michigan nearly saw 2005 Atlantic hurricane season type activity.
